CT Weather: Hour-by-Hour Forecast Of Surprise April Snowstorm

The National Weather Service has increased its snow estimates for Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties to 3 to 5 inches of snow Monday morning, according to its updated Winter Weather Advisory.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for Hartford, Tolland, Litchfield and Windham counties for a snow chance and possible minor snow accumulation.

For Southern Connecticut, the weather service says, "Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected..Plan on slippery road conditions and reduced visibilities, including during the morning commute on Monday."

For Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties, the weather service says, "A quick hitting storm will bring a period of accumulating snow Monday morning, heaviest near the south coast."

And for Litchfield County, "A quick moving system will bring light accumulating snow latetonight into early Monday. Current indications are for 2 to 4 inches of snow which could impact the Monday morning commute with slippery driving and walking conditions."

Here is a look at the hour-by-hour forecast for Connecticut based on where you live.

Fairfield County

2 a.m.: 36 degrees; 52 percent chance of precipitation;

5 a.m.: 32 degrees; 92 percent chance of precipitation;

8 a.m.: 34 degrees; 96 percent chance of precipitation;

11 a.m.: 36 degrees; 58 percent chance of precipitation;

2 p.m.: 40 degrees; 19 percent chance of precipitation;

From 2 a.m. until 5 a.m. expect 0.3 tenths of an inch of snow. From 5 a.m. until 8 a.m. 2.4 inches of snow. From 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. another 1.9 inches of snow, and from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. another 0.2 tenths of an inch of snow. A total of 3.8 inches of snow is expected in Fairfield County.

New Haven County

2 a.m.: 34 degrees; 44 percent chance of precipitation;

5 a.m.: 32 degrees; 78 percent chance of precipitation;

8 a.m.: 34 degrees; 100 percent chance of precipitation;

11 a.m.: 37 degrees; 58 percent chance of precipitation;

2 p.m.: 39 degrees; 17 percent chance of precipitation;

From 2 a.m. until 5 a.m. expect 0.2 tenths of an inch of snow. From 5 a.m. until 8 a.m. 1.5 inches of snow. From 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. another 2.1 inches of snow, and from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. another 0.3 tenths of an inch of snow. A total of 4.1 inches of snow is expected in New Haven County.

Middlesex County:

2 a.m.: 30 degrees; 40 percent chance of precipitation;

5 a.m.: 32 degrees; 69 percent chance of precipitation;

8 a.m.: 30 degrees; 100 percent chance of precipitation;

11 a.m.: 34 degrees; 58 percent chance of precipitation;

2 p.m.: 39 degrees; 19 percent chance of precipitation;

From 2 a.m. until 5 a.m. expect 0.2 tenths of an inch of snow. From 5 a.m. until 8 a.m. 1.2 inches of snow. From 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. another 2.2 inches of snow, and from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. another 0.4 tenths of an inch of snow. A total of 4.0 inches of snow is expected in Middlesex County.

New London County:
